“For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. (2nd Corinthians 5:19, NLT)

In times like these, all of us are feverishly preparing for the Christmas Season with all the attendant activities. These include Church Conventions, parties and Watchnight (Cross-Over) Services among others. The object of these services shall all be to celebrate the incarnation of God into flesh to save sinful man.

Let us bear in mind that in our commemoration of Christmas, we remember the supreme sacrifice made by God himself, by giving his Only Beloved Son for the remission of the sins of Man.

Interestingly, the whole of salvation is that God through Jesus Christ saves us so that we in turn will save others. That process incidentally is one that requires not only preaching the Gospel to the unbelieving world but extending the virtues of the life of God’s Kingdom to the unbelieving world.

Therefore, as we prepare for the yuletide, I urge you beloved brothers and sisters to find space in your hearts to allow the gift(s) of God in you to affect the world. This could be in sharing meals to the underprivileged, emptying our wardrobes and shoe racks to help others in need in our churches, streets and neighbourhood as well as generally allowing the virtues of the kingdom to reflect.

Jesus is indeed the reason for the season and everything we do must reflect that fact!
